The Rosa Parks Farmers Market was established by co-founders, the Rosa Parks Farmers Market Community Advisory Council, established 2015, and the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department of Charlotte, NC. It was named in honor of our beloved Ancestor Rosa Parks. It began its first operation on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. The Grand Opening was on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 which included the Blessing and cutting of the ribbon by Sheila McCauley-Keys, niece of Rosa Parks, et al! It’s an educational, transformative farmers market not merely transactional. We understand the value of education as the key to healthy living.
